you've come to the right place!

Filling your walls and reminding you of life's sweetest seasons?

family portraits

this time in your life deserves to be captured by something other than your iPhone. Family sessions were born from past wedding couples asking me to document their growing families and now I just can't get enough!

I love creating photos to remind families that in spite of the fact that the car of their floor is covered in cereal, their laundry room looks like an episode of hoarders and mom and dad are in a permanent state of exhaustion, their love and their story are so beautiful.

So let's plan a day, pick a location that is meaningful to you and create a slew of images that will fill up the frames your walls for years to come.

Regardless of the season you're in, and whether your babies are big, small or furry,

We are so happy that we had Mikayla take photos of myself, my husband, and our baby. The session was so fun and full of laughter and sweet moments for us. She made us all feel really comfortable (even my husband who doesn’t always love being in front of the camera). Her joyful and down to earth presence, along with a great ability to guide and instruct our movements, was a huge part of what makes these easily the most beautiful photos we’ve taken together as a family! We were so excited after the shoot to see our pictures and she had them all to us the next day! Couldn’t be happier with every aspect of the experience :)

All of us were comfortable, even my husband!!!

Such a positive experience! Mikayla takes all the awkwardness away and does everything she can to make it a fun and special memory for you and your person. Had her for my grad, maternity, and now family pictures and I can’t say enough good things. Thank you for capturing such special moments!

Unless you've modelled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. Heck, I take photos for a living, and I even feel like a deer in the headlights when I'm in front of the camera, lol!

You're going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on and I coach you through images, I think you'll find that being photographed can be fun. And don't worry about your kids. I am in my element capturing even the busiest of little ones!

What if we're awkward and my kids don't sit still?

If picking out outfits for photos takes you back to your high school days when you literally tried on everything in your closet and piled it on your bed but still felt like you had nothing to wear, you're in luck.

I put together an extensive outfit suggestion guide with tips for every member of the family (even Fido!)

What should we wear?

The sooner the better! my weekends tend to fill up pretty quickly - especially during the spring and fall, so the sooner you reach out to us, the more likely you are to get your desired date!

To reserve your date, we'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let us know!

A:

How far in advance should we book?

q:

No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, we'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule. Often, when we're scheduling our initial portrait session date, if it works for our calendars, we'll actually set up both a main date and a rain date just to make sure we don't have to postpone your session for very long if the weather is bad on the original date.
